About Dave Gration.

About Dave Gration.

I had my first underwater encounter whilst on holiday with family in Spain at the age of 15. Now some 28+ years later I can’t begin to tell you about the amazing things I have seen in that time and where my diving has taken me !! From the fresh waters of Stoney Cove where I taught for a number of years, to the most amazing warm water wreck and cave diving location in the world, I have gained my years of experience in varied conditions and locations, around the world.

I started out my diving through BSAC, but found this held me back from teaching the way I wanted to teach, so I then crossed over to other training agencies, which gave me the opportunity to teach diving for a living and make it my career of choice.

I first got into technical diving whilst in the U.K and it all started by just wanting to make a few deeper dives that I had read about. Back then there really wasn’t the training agencies teaching tech that there are today.

I taught in the U.K for some of the largest dive centers, including running the training side of their businesses for them, I then decide to make the move abroad. I took the normal instructor route around the world until I decided to settle down and own my own Dive Centre in the Canary Islands. For 10 years I ran Dive Academy Gran Canaria in the south of Gran Canaria, this gave me the opportunity to further my own diving and look into new and more demanding types of diving, including the use of rebreathers and technical diving.

Now I have returned to the U.K, which I use as a base whilst I work as a freelance Technical Diving Instructor Trainer throughout Europe.

I am able to teach all areas of Technical diving. I am a full Trimix instructor for IART, TDI, IANTD, ITDA and PADI in both Open and Closed Circuit diving, including full cave instructor. I am also the regional officer for IART (International Association of Rebreather Trainers)

I am able to offer rebreather course to full trimix level on the following rebreathers.

XCCR

JJ-CCR

AP inspiration/Evolution

SF2 both back mount and side mount

Triton

Hollis Prism2

CCR Liberty

Poseidon Mk6/7

As I am able to teach on a number of different rebreathers, this is good for new rebreather divers as it means I can help you find the right rebreather for your needs and not just the only one i can selll or promote

I am also able to offer DPV courses in both open water and overhead environments.
